LEDREBORG CASTLE (LEDREBORG SLOT)

This sumptuous manor house is located in Lejre, 12 km from Roskilde. As early as the 16th century, a building linked to a farm occupied the site. It was not until 1739 that J. L. Holstein bought the property and transformed it into one of the most beautiful mansions in the country. He commissioned Johan Cornelius Krieger to extend the building and add the chapel. The monumental staircase was designed by Jacob Fortling. The castle is only open to groups, but you can take a walk in the beautiful garden.
