This is Negril's only vestige of last-century architecture. Built in 1894 by a French firm, Bernard & Bernard, the all-white lighthouse stands twenty modest meters above the sea, at the end of Negril's West End, at the very western tip of the island. In the past, the lighthouse was powered by kerosene and later by acetylene. For some years now, it has been completely closed to visitors. However, you can still enjoy a panoramic view of the cliffs, especially at sunset.
