Former hospital built in the early century, now renovated to house a cultural complex
The Matarazzo name is intimately linked to the city of São Paulo. The eponymous family was the symbol of the city's power in the 1930s. Here, a major cultural project bears the name. This former hospital, built in the early 20th century, is now being renovated to house a cultural complex combining magnificent historic buildings, lush botanical gardens and an extensive range of stores and cultural events. Rehabilitation of the site, begun in 2008, was completed in 2019.
