EDIFÍCIO ALTINO ARANTES - EDIFÍCIO BANESPA
A 35-storey, 161 m-high skyscraper with a 360° panoramic view stretching 40 km from its summit
This 35-storey skyscraper is one of the symbols of the city, when it attracted millions of migrants in the early 20th century. Construction began in 1939 and took eight years, inspired by New York's Empire State. For 40 years, it was considered the world's tallest concrete structure, standing 161 metres high. From its summit, the 360° panoramic view stretches for 40 km. The silhouette of this skyscraper is one of São Paulo's postcards.
