Without a doubt, this is the oldest "solar" (middle-class house) in Mangaratiba. This colonial house was built in 1831. Baron de Sahy, a great landowner and coffee planter, had his beautiful house built in the heart of Mangaratiba, whose development was linked to the development of the coffee culture. Today it is the cultural center of the city which has a municipal museum since 2012, exhibiting colonial objects from the 17th century, photographs of the city from the 19th century and some paintings.
