Located around 30 km from Denpasar and 10 km from Tabanan, this temple is one of Bali's most famous. You'll see it on every postcard featuring Indonesia. The temple is open until nightfall, and you'll be able to admire some superb sunsets. Clinging to a rock, Tanah Lot is beaten by the waves at high tide, creating an enchanting tableau. It dates back to the 16th century.You can also visit in the morning, when it's (much) quieter. Around 5 p.m., it's crowded in high season.
