Contemporary art space featuring a permanent collection of modern artistic movements since the century.

The Berlinische Galerie is the leading museum for modern and contemporary art in the Kreuzberg district. The Berlinische Galerie offers first and foremost high-quality temporary exhibitions with frequently changing themes and formats, with a strong emphasis on architecture and photography. After having changed location throughout its history, the museum is now permanently housed in the former glass factory. You will be able to discover the great figures of the contemporary art scene through their paintings, sculptures, photos or videos. On the first floor, the permanent exhibition is a very interesting introduction to 20th century German art, particularly from Berlin itself, thanks to the works of expressionists such as Otto Dix and artists such as Max Liebermann. The museum is truly unique in comparison with the major institutions in Berlin, not only because of the works on display but also because of the fact that it was founded in 1975 as a citizen's movement. The museum's collection was for a long time linked to the political situation in the city, but its development has since accelerated and it now houses a rich collection on almost 4,600 square metres. Also to be seen outside is a garden concept, the Garten Parade, which is an innovative mix of architecture and botany. The garden is also a tribute to Berlin and its perpetual transformation. A café adjoins the museum and offers a wide range of fresh produce and can even host events on request.

Rather than museum gallery you will discover the German art from the late 19c until after the war.
No need for audio guide (each room has a short text that explains the exposed current. You will discover the history and the motivations of some running.
You come out of this museum, rather modern, full to know again and reflections for days to follow.
