Complex of 5 museums classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site thanks to its exceptional collections of paintings, sculptures...
Museum Island is a complex of five museums nestled between two arms of the River Spree. Its majestic buildings and exceptional collections have earned it UNESCO World Heritage status. Since 1998, a comprehensive restoration plan for the five museums has been underway, and every effort is being made to ensure that the collections remain accessible to the public. Ile aux Musées now has a new gateway to serve as a reception point: the Simon-James-Galerie, designed by architect David Chipperfield.
