WALLFAHRTSKIRCHE MARIA IN DER TANNE - OUR LADY OF THE PINES CHURCH

The roots of the pilgrimage of "Sainte Marie au Sapin" in Triberg derive from a beautiful history. The water from the nearby source was known to be miraculous and to cure many diseases. In recognition of his gratitude, a tailor slipped a small statue of Mary in 1644 in the hollow of a tree. Fallen into oblivion, it was rediscovered in 1692 where the current sanctuary was built.
