A 200 m-long old bridge over the Neckar, linking the Old Town with the Neuenheim district and offering superb panoramic views.
"Seen from here, this bridge is so beautiful that no other bridge in the world can possibly match it," said Goethe in 1797. Hölderlin and Keller also devoted whole lines to the old Heidelberg bridge. It was decided by Karl Theodor, in the 18th century, from whom it takes its name. Better known as the Alte Brücke, this structure spans the Neckar, linking the old town to the Neuenheim district. It is made of sandstone and is 200 meters long with nine spans. It offers a magnificent view of the old town and the castle.

Allez-y de jour, mais surtout retournez-y de nuit. On se sent vraiment à un autre siècle à l'instar demu pont Charles de Prague.
