Museum in a castle with a pretty courtyard and medieval tombstones exploring all about the Thonet family of Boppard.

The city museum is housed in the castle of the prince-electors of Boppard (die Kurfürstliche Burg). It forms a rectangle surrounding a beautiful inner courtyard with some medieval tombstones. Dating from the 14th century, it is dominated by a 5-story keep. Inside, you can learn all about the Thonet family, from Boppard, famous inventors of bentwood chairs in the 19th century. You can also admire a beautiful collection of rocking chairs and chairs.

Belle architecture
Très beau bâtiment dont la taille contraste avec l'architecture de la ville. Il faut dire que le chateau de Boppard est en ruine et donc aucune bâtisse ne rivalise avec le musée.
