HOUSE OF BEETHOVEN
Museum housed in Beethoven's birthplace, featuring portraits, paintings, scores and acoustic horns.
This house has become a veritable place of pilgrimage. The entrance to the house and the interior garden are very moving. Beethoven's birthplace, completely untouched by age and war, contains two floors of portraits of masters and friends, busts and paintings of the composer himself, and a large collection of scores. Among the many jewels in the museum's crown are Joseph Stieler's famous portrait of the artist, his last piano and a fine collection of early instruments.
