RHEIN IN FLAMMEN (RHIN EN FLAMMES)

When dozens of illuminated boats sail past the towns and villages of the Middle Rhine Valley, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, it is simply magical! The mountains and castles along the Rhine are bathed in the soft, festive light of the red Bengal lights, creating a romantic atmosphere like no other. Seats on the boats are booked up well in advance, but from a terrace on the Rhine, the view is simply sublime! In Bonn, tens of thousands of visitors gather at the Rheinaue Leisure Park for the first "Rhine in Flames" of the year to celebrate the event with live music, family-friendly food and a spectacular fireworks display. The cities of Rüdesheim in July, Koblenz in August, Oberwesel and Sankt Goar in September follow. Not to be missed!
