ZEUGHAUS
Built between 1596 and 1602, it was first destroyed and then rebuilt, and since 1958 has housed the Cologne City Museum.
The arsenal was built between 1596 and 1602, but its south wall dates back to Roman times. A state arsenal from 1602 to 1792, it was then in the hands of the Prussian army from 1815 to 1919. Destroyed in 1945, then rebuilt, since 1958 it has housed the Cologne City Museum, now relocated a few streets away. Its shutters are painted red and white, symbolic of the cause of the Three Kings and the martyrdom of Saint Ursula. These are also the colors of the city's coat of arms. Major water damage in 2017 led to the closure of the collections.
