WALLRAF RICHARTZ MUSEUM
Museum featuring a remarkable collection of paintings and pictures by Cologne masters such as Dürer, Cranach and Burgkmair.
The Wallraf Richartz Museum takes its name from two major donors, Canon Wallraf and businessman Richartz, who bequeathed a remarkable collection of paintings to the city in the 19th century. Art lovers can admire the Cologne Masters (15th century). Other highlights include paintings by Dürer and Cranach. Dutch and Flemish masters (Rembrandt, Rubens) and Italians (Canaletto) complete the collection. The 19th-century section features works by the German Romantics and French Impressionists (Monet's superb Water Lilies).
