In the heart of the Normandy Bocage, the Pontécoulant estate was owned by the Le Doulcet de Pontécoulant family from the 14th century onwards. The château, as it stands today, was built in the 16th century on a former stronghold, then enlarged in the second half of the 18th century. Listed as a Monument Historique, the estate features a magnificent main building of schist and granite, opening onto an immense main courtyard. And its English-style park is the ideal place for a romantic stroll, before a break at Augustine's Boudoir.

Venu passer la journée dans l’Orne nous avons visité ce château qui est très beau à l’intérieur très bien entretenu.le parc de toute beauté La guide était très agréable, dynamique et connaît bien ce lieux et y est très attaché. Si vous passez dans le coin n’hésitez pas à vous arrêter ????

This stately home is a hidden gem, personal guided tour provided in English by very attentive staff. Closed between 12pm and 2:30pm but there is a picnic area close by. Tea rooms were delightful, basic menu but great service in exceptional surroundings.
