The tiny «capital» (20 000 inhabitants) of the Northern Friesland (Nordfriesland) on the North sea coast is a delightful city. Its centre is colourful and full of a nice atmosphere, its port is probably the most beautiful among the small towns of the German North Sea. It is the homeland of the romantic poet Theodor Storm (1817-1888), sung in the artist's most famous poem, "Die graue Stadt am Meer", "La Ville Grise sur la Mer". Far from being grey, Husum is the best step on the Northern Frise islands. You will be enchanted by the famous shrimp (Nordseekrabben), sold in the legendary "Fischbrötchen", bread rolls for fish and shrimp.
