MUSEUM OF THE NAVY

A fascinating window on Kiel, its past and the sea. The museum shows the history of fishing, shipping, harbor and shipbuilding in Kiel on more than 700^m2 of exhibition space in the former fish market. Many topics are covered: the invention of cruise tourism, the development of the North Sea Canal, the expansion of colonial empires made possible by the navy, etc. To see in the museum: models of ships, navigation instruments, figureheads and some paintings.
