Lübeck's town hall shows the power of the city as the queen of the Hanseatic League.
Built between the 13th and 16th centuries, the beautiful town hall is the pride of Lübeck. It combines different styles, from Gothic to Renaissance, and was a model for other Hanseatic cities. The southern pediment is the oldest part of the building (1230), whose facade was reworked in 1435, including two circular openings to reduce wind pressure. Its black bricks contrast with the dominant red color of the rest of the city. Inside, we find the beautiful courtroom.
