The Altona Museum is dedicated to preserving the culture and arts of northern Germany, especially Altona, Schleswig Holstein and the German Baltic coastal areas. It presents a rich collection of objects and works related to navigation, handicrafts and folklore, rural and small town culture.
Heine-Haus, Elbchaussee 31: this beautiful neoclassical villa that belonged to the banker Salomon Heine (1767-1844) is now an annex of the Altona Museum, hosting temporary exhibitions, lectures and concerts.
