Elegant neoclassical arcades along the canal.
Built along the canal in front of the city hall, these arcades have elegant neoclassical forms. With their cafés and distinguished stores, they are a showcase for Hamburg. They were an integral part of the reconstruction of the Rathausmarkt after it was destroyed by the great fire of 1842, which burned the city center to the ground. As such, the Alsterarkaden are emblematic of Hamburg's Nachbrandarchitektur. The architect Alexis de Chateauneuf was inspired by the arcades of St. Mark's Square in Venice.

A faire absolument apres avoir vue leRathausmarkt . C'est arcade son au bord de canneaux qui donne a habourg un cot venise. Les maasins sous es arcades sont par contre assez cher.

Symbole de Hambourg. Les arcades ont un charme fou souvent sous-estimé, comme tout le reste du centre ville d'ailleurs. Les arcades se situe a deux pas du Rathaus.
