BACHHAUS - JEAN-SEBASTIEN'S HOUSE BACH
On one of Eisenach's main squares, the museum dedicated to Johann Sebastian Bach is located in an ochre-coloured house. Since 1907, the birth of Eisenach's child prodigy has been commemorated there. The historic building is not lacking in charm. It recounts Bach's life, his encounters, his career, his daily life and the world of music in the 1700s, when the future geniuses who marked the history of music were all placed, as children, with the church organist. They made their debut and classes with him.
The admission ticket includes a 20-minute mini "concert". A museum expert presents 18th century Baroque musical instruments and demonstrates them by playing a few notes with each instrument. It's fascinating.
The modern building next door preserves scores and exhibits musical instruments. You can listen to pieces of Bach's music by dreaming about this period and the life of this brilliant musician. Excellent museum even if you are not a music lover!
