Buchenwald is a necessary detour to measure the extent of the regression of Hitler's Germany versus the weimarienne humanist tradition. It was in July 1937 that the Nazis began the construction of this immense concentration camp, where more than 250 000 people were deported, 65 000 died. Opening time and information on GEDENKSTÄTTE BUCHENWALD
Open Tuesday to Sunday and public holidays from April to October, from 10 to 6pm, from November to March from 10 to 4pm. Closed from December 24th to December 26th, on December 31st and on January 1st. Free admission. One can go to Buchenwald by the bus (Weimar-Buchenwald line) of the central train station of the slow trains or the place of the station. The camp is with a few kilometers north of the city. Follow the symbol of the memorial, a kind of pyramid.

La visita dura un promedio de 2 horas, aunque yo eso lo pongo en duda porque si quieres visitar todo lo que está indicado en el mapa que te dan, te puede llevar horas pues hay distancias de kms.
Después de la visita puedes reponer fuerzas en la cafetería del Campo de Concentración con un Café y un Pastel.
Todo está bastante bien coordinado.
Según el mapa original llegué a contabilizar hasta 10 Crematorios....pero en realidad sólo han dejado uno, supongo será para no sacudir conciencias. No es lo mismo ver 10 Crematorios que ver sólo uno.

Das Wohnhaus ist gut Erhalten, auch wenn nicht alle Original Einrichtungen des Hauses noch vorhanden sind.
