An immersive and fascinating visit to Honfleur: witness the rebirth of the Mora, William the Conqueror's ship!

You can't really know Normandy without exploring the incredible saga of William the Conqueror. Here's a fascinating project: the reconstruction of his ship La Mora, a gift from his wife Mathilde of Flanders. Two highlights: a (brilliant!) immersive tour of the Duke of Normandy's exploits and those of the great Norman navigators, and a visit to the shipyard to learn about 11th-century techniques. The ship is due to be afloat in 2027, to mark the millennium of William the Conqueror's birth, and to cross the English Channel in 2030!

Visite incroyable ! L’immersion est superbement réussie. Sur le chantier, l’accueil est chaleureux et les ouvriers sympathiques.

Petit bémol : 18h15 nous faisons le tour de la boutique avant de repartir, mais il n’est en fait pas possible d’acheter quoi que ce soit…dommage !

Capable bilingual staff. Easy parking incl campercars. Passionate workers on ship. Fascinating project especially if you love woodworking or boats. It will be 5 years before it is finished. I am now following on Facebook.
