A connoisseur of the Amazonian tropics, Benoît Damico founded Naturospace in 1999. This unique zoo in Normandy has been going strong for over 25 years! This greenhouse paradise, where birds and butterflies roam free, offers an astonishing voyage of direct contact with nature. Imagine yourself on the banks of the Maroni River in the middle of the Amazon rainforest... You'll find over 150 different species of butterfly, a dozen different species of tropical bird, as well as fish and an exceptional botanical collection, with several hundred species.

A faire avec des enfants.
This place is beautiful, unique and its natural conservation of the butterflies and bird species they keep clearly play a key roll in maintaining said species numbers.
However, perhaps it was out of season or lack of funding or interest as to why the gift shop is priced as it is but I decided to buy a butterfly teddy in remembrance of my visit. At €15 euros in my opinion, this was steep. This may well be the going rate but I felt €8-€10 would have been a more suitable price for what I bought of which I have posted a picture.
This was the only blight and what was a lovely educational few hours. The animals and stunning and it is well worth a visit, the admission it self was around €12 so not to bad. But if you want to take something away with be prepared to double that money or substantially add to it for even something quite small.
