PUEMPEL'S OLDE TAVERN

A real old-fashioned tavern, like they don't make them anymore! Since its foundation in 1893, Puempel's has never stopped watering the people of New Glarus, who are all familiar with this institution. At the time it opened, the establishment also served as a bed and breakfast and welcomed passing travelers, all of whom were won over by the hospitality of Joe and Berta, the owners. On the menu are hearty dishes, often cheese-based, such as cheese curds and pizzas. Today, Puempel's remains a warm and timeless place.
