Hermanville-sur-Mer British cemetery with the graves of 1,005 soldiers, numerous monuments and commemorative plaques

1,005 soldiers, including 986 British, 13 Canadians, 3 Australians and 3 French, fell at D-Day on June 6, 1944. Numerous monuments and plaques of remembrance also dot the commune: "Le Matelot", the Royal Artillery monument, plaques in memory of the3rd British Infantry Division... Also, on the road to Lion-sur-Mer, a British Centaur tank, designed to support the Royal Marine Commando.

Il y a quelques monuments sur le bord de la plage ( place cuirassé Pierre Courbet). Il y a du stationnement très bien. Il s'agit d'un site simple mais qui vaut le détour si vous êtes passionnés de l'histoire de la Guerre et que vous voulez avoir une impression de la plage Sword.
