In urban centers, such as Toronto, most points of interest are open year-round. However, in the regions, they are often seasonal, with a period of opening from May to October. If they are open every day in the summer, the schedule is often reduced from Patriots' Day (the Monday before May 25) to June 24 and from Labour Day (the first Monday in September) to Thanksgiving (thesecond Monday in October).

Reservations are rarely required, except for guided tours, immersive shows, or special workshops and activities in museums and galleries. However, since the pandemic, many attractions recommend or even require advance reservations.

Admission is usually between $15 and $40 CDN for an adult ticket. Discounts are almost always available for children, students and seniors, or even free admission. For example, admission to national parks and historic sites is always free for those under 18. Many points of interest are also completely free, although some may require a voluntary contribution.

If you don't want to break the bank, get the Toronto City Pass. Available for $99.25 CDN per adult ($74.25 CDN for ages 4-12), it gives you access to five major city attractions: Casa Loma, Ontario Science Centre or Toronto Zoo, Ripley's Aquarium of Canada, Royal Ontario Museum and CN Tower. Many festivals and events take place in Toronto each year, with themes as varied as documentaries, music, ethnic diversity, humor and auto racing. Among the main and most famous are the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF), which is one of the most important in the world, and the Toronto Caribbean Festival, known for its exoticism and its very festive events.
