Reserve that preserves the heritage of the Slaves, Dene and Chipewyans of the region.
To get there, take a small winding road from Highway 5 towards the Hay River Reserve. The Hay River Dene Indian Reserve, also known as K'atlodeeche/Katl'odeeche First Nation, preserves the heritage of the region's Slavey, Dene and Chipewyan people. It is one of only two Indian reserves in the Northwest Territories. Tourist information is available at the Yamozha Kue Dene Cultural Institute. A carnival is held on site every spring with fiddle players and jigs.
