This Renaissance-style château, built by the Harcourts and listed as a Monument Historique, has been handed down from generation to generation since the 13th century, to the d'Oilliamson family. Its current owner, the Marquis d'Oilliamson, describes it as "a Loire château lost in Normandy". Its roofs are dizzyingly high (among the highest in France), and the west facade illustrates four different architectural styles. In addition, there are no fewer than 52 levels throughout the château - a veritable labyrinth! The first floor salons house a rich collection of period furniture, paintings, engravings and porcelain. You can also visit the vast 13th- and 16th-century seigniorial chapel. For a guided tour, allow at least three-quarters of an hour. That is, if it's an "ordinary" visit! Because if the master of the house is leading the way, the visit takes on an even more fascinating dimension, filled with anecdotes and stories both great and small. And you'll quickly lose track of time... Several tour themes are available: by candlelight, for children, or in the form of an investigative game. The choice is yours!
Numerous weekends and events are organized to bring the place to life: chivalry festival, historical re-enactment, investigations into anecdotes about the Marquis' ancestors, murder party in the château's salons... Enough to make us want to come... and come back!

Magnifique château !
Nous sommes venus le samedi 27 avril malgré la pluie...
Nous en sommes sortis avec la tête remplies d'anecdotes grâce à notre jeune guide, férue d'histoire et de petits mots sympas. Sa passion pour l'histoire de ce château a été très communicative.
Le faible prix de la visite (8.50€ par adulte) est peu par rapport à la belle sortie effectuée. On peut comprendre devant l'immensité de la tâche à entretenir ce que nombres châtelains appellent "un cadeau empoisonné" quand ils héritent d'une telle bâtisse.
Nous recommandons à tous ceux aimant l'histoire de France en général d'aller y faire un tour !
Inoubliable, véritable voyage dans le temps, cette visite guidé par le propriétaire est à faire absolument.
