VILLAGE QUÉBÉCOIS D’ANTAN

Local history and culture €€

This faithful recreation of a 19th-century Quebec village features over 70 original buildings and 10,000 antique objects. During the summer, the village comes alive, so that you'll feel as if you've stepped back in time between 1810 and 1930. Villagers immerse themselves in the daily lives of their ancestors, practicing traditional trades, playing music and explaining the customs of bygone days. The site features numerous activities, including a major new feature in phase 1: technologies created by the renowned Moment Factory are integrated into the village's houses and buildings, not to mention the augmented reality playground.

In October, the village takes on a spooky air for the Halloween special. Dozens of actors bring your worst nightmares to life in the evening, while family activities are held during the day. In December and early January, the site is illuminated with thousands of lights and a host of traditional holiday activities await you. In spring, the sugar shack heralds the return of the warm weather, and it's the perfect opportunity to sweeten up.

In summer, it's also possible to bring your own lunch, as the Village provides picnic areas at various locations on the site, as well as year-round catering services. A must-see attraction in Centre-du-Québec! Reservations recommended, whatever the season.
