Mine, museum with various exhibitions and village, a good address to learn more about the history of miners in Glace Bay.
A real discovery site, the visit begins with the museum and its exhibitions on the coal industry, the techniques, tools and equipment used, all punctuated by anecdotes and stories about the lives of minors. Accompanied by a retired pensioner, you will then explore the Ocean Deeps Colliery mine, which has been closed since 1947. A village is also recreated outside with, in particular, the company's store, the house of one of the workers and a restaurant open to all.
