Moncton is the most populous city in New Brunswick and is located on the Petitcodiac River, which is subject to the impressive tidal bore phenomenon. One third of the population is French-speaking and the University of Moncton was the source of the Acadian renaissance. With its many good addresses, it is an excellent base in the region, especially since the Hopewell Rocks Provincial Park is nearby. In town, don't miss the famous Magnetic Hill. Just put your car in neutral at the bottom of the hill and it will magically go up the hill. We still can't explain this phenomenon...
