To fully appreciate the phenomenon, it is important to check the tide times at the tourist office on Bridge Road. At low tide, the Saint John River rushes into the bay, but at high tide, the opposite occurs and the sea rises. This phenomenon causes the formation of rapids and whirlpools quite impressive.
