The Basilica of Notre-Dame de la Délivrande is remarkable for its proportions and the luminosity of its interior
The two immense towers of this basilica stand in the heart of Douvres-la-Délivrande. Built between 1854 and 1878 in the neo-Gothic style, it is remarkable for its proportions and the luminosity of its interior. The choir, with 11 stained-glass windows and 34 wooden stalls sculpted by Jacquier, a famous sculptor of the time, is splendid, revealing all its beauty when a ray of sunlight shines through. Not forgetting the Black Madonna dating from 1580, and the white marble paving in the sanctuary.
