It's a big fashion in Vancouver to add an article defined as "le" or "la" in front of the name of a café to make it "more French". The Prado Café, therefore, took up residence on Commercial Drive. Its owner, Sammy Piccolo, is a forerunner in this field and a pioneer of the coffee scene, having won barista contests on several occasions, including four times first place in the Canadian championship. In 2012, he opens Le Prado, a small family business, with a passion for roasted beans that has been passed down through generations.
