Columns of brittle rock carved by erosion offer a timeless landscape at the edge of the road in Drumheller.
The hoodoos are located 16 kilometres southeast of Drumheller on Route 10. Also known as "fairy chimneys", they are columns of crumbly rock sculpted by erosion that stand at the side of the road. A Hoodoo Trail allows you to wander among these strange silhouettes, resembling giant mushrooms. The show is fascinating and reminiscent of Bryce Canyon in Utah, USA. An unmistakable feature of the region and above all a timeless landscape, not to be missed if you are travelling in the southern part of the province of Alberta.
