This village, located at an altitude of 2,800 m, is 65 km southeast of San Pedro. Its economic activity is based on agriculture and crafts. In this last field, the specialities of the village are the work of the wood of cactus and the wool of llama. Camar surprises by its condition of small oasis lost between arid mounts which dominate the extent of the salar of Atacama. Here, as in Toconao, the habitat is characterized by the use of liparite. The church of Camar is an example of the simple architecture of the churches in the villages along the salar: a nave and a tripartite altar. The view of the village from up there is superb.
