Travel Guide Laguna Verde

Following the shores of General Carrera Lake for 30 km west of Chile Chico, on the road to Fachinal, you can admire the green waters of this lagoon sprinkled with small rocky islets. It is said that the salty waters of the lagoon have magical medicinal properties: it is easy to believe that the landscapes are so mystical, so absent of any vegetation. The colour of the lagoon is bewitching. It is also here that the first inhabitants of the Chile Chico region fought the army in 1917 to assert their rights over the ownership of their land. This event remains known as the "War of Chile Chico".
