This reserve of 41 370 ha, created in 1967, is located west of Coyhaique. It is subject to a particularly rainy climate: do not be surprised! The varied fauna of the park is represented by the majestic huemul deer and the puma, as well as by several types of foxes. The Simpson River, which gives its name to the reserve, is the one with the greatest flow. Its main tributary is the Correntoso River. There is a camping area 5 km to the east, but the Río Correntos campsite, on the water's edge, is more rural and more interesting. All buses to Puerto Aysén can drop you off at the entrance.
