The kati roll is West Bengal's specialty: a still-warm parotha, an egg spread over it as it finishes cooking, minced red onions, a pinch of chilli, lemon juice, then the filling of your choice: paneer, chicken or mutton. You'll find them all over town, but they're probably best here, according to our local sources! It's hearty, the meat is tender and the roll is juicy. The classic egg chicken roll. Eating a Kati Roll standing up in the street is a perilous exercise, so watch your fingers!
