Many NGOs are active in Kolkata and you will come across many volunteers there, even as a simple tourist. If you feel like it, here are some contacts of associations that are very active in this city. Please note that accommodation and meals are generally paid for by the volunteers, even for long missions. Calcutta Rescue offers classes to children in the slums, mobile clinics, and help with reintegration are all programs where volunteers can get involved.
