CHÂTEAU DE THURY-HARCOURT
Château de la famille d'Harcourt, a visit not to be missed for its ruins, before joining the Voie verte
The ruins of the Château d'Harcourt, nicknamed the Versailles of Normandy, burned down in 1944. Visible from the square, you can imagine the majesty of the place. Place du 13 août 1944 is a starting and finishing point for the GR trail. Down the rue du Château, you'll find the St-Bénin district, a hub of artisanal activity, as evidenced by the old tannery (at 18) and the still-active Emaillerie Normande. Next door, you'll reach the Tunnel du Hom on the Voie verte.
