ENGAGEMENT MOUSSEM

In the High Atlas mountains, 25 km south of Imilchil, in the hamlet of Aït-Amer to be precise, one of the most famous moussems in Berber culture takes place: the one paying homage to engaged couples. Young Berber couples flock to celebrate their engagement together at the place where, according to legend, a saint who blessed unions and guaranteed happiness was buried. For three days, in a joyous and festive mood, the major events of family life, such as children's circumcisions, follow one another. A must-see!
