"Calle de Mexico" as Arielle Dombasle affectionately calls it, where she likes to sip a fruit juice in the summer when she is on vacation in Tangier, is the most lively street in the city center. It starts behind the Place de France and goes down to the fabric market (not to be confused with the weavers' market) via Avenue M'salah. Numerous galleries(kisariya) line this street and house stores selling clothes, cosmetics, trinkets and jewelry. You can also find passementerie and silks at good prices.
