A plant museum with remarkable exotic greenhouses, a great place to stroll around Caen.
A haven of peace and greenery just a stone’s throw from the city centre! Beyond its scientific vocation, it’s a superb place to visit with the whole family. The alleys let you discover the plants in flowerbeds, the greenhouses (open in the afternoons) are worth every trip, the botanical institute surrounded by medicinal plants is an architectural marvel, and finally, the park area, with its children’s playground, makes for a relaxing stop. In fact, between guided tours, workshops and seasonal events, the Jardin des Plantes is just what you need for a break!

Très beau jardin mais qui n'est pas très grand. Nous avons assez vite fait le tour mais l'espace botanique est magnifique. Il y z des jeux pour les enfants et des bancs pour les parents. Très agréable de donner le biberon à son bébé au milieu de ses arbres et fleurs.
Yes impossible to get bored there... and what it does beautiful or rainy because greenhouses, there is plenty to do even in rainy weather. It is a garden where you can stroll summer and winter and with all the family. My children 3 and 6 years loved the tropical atmosphere of the greenhouses and then there is water... then inevitably, as soon as there is water, children including in general. Another great advantage, it is not far from the city centre... then what a countryside after visiting the castle and the lively shopping streets!
