The town hall took its place in the premises of the Malherbe high school in 1961, after the latter had moved into more modern and much larger buildings a few hundred meters away, towards the Prairie. The school itself was installed at the end of the ^19th century in the Abbey of Men, a superb architectural masterpiece built in the Middle Ages by William the Conqueror. Romanesque and Gothic in style, it has been listed as a historical monument for almost two centuries. It is no coincidence that it is one of the most beautiful town halls in France! Take the time to stop and appreciate the panorama it offers. The administrative services of the city and the offices of the elected officials are located here. The sumptuous wooden wedding hall is also located in the main building. Please note that the civil status services are in an annex building, accessible from the Aile des Jardins. Emergency calls are transferred to the municipal police between 8pm and 8am as well as on Sundays and holidays.

The University of Caen Normandie offers a career guidance and integration service called Espace Orientation Insertion (EOI). This service is open to all students at the university, and is also part of the regional public career guidance service. The EOI team is made up of professionals with expertise in higher education training and skills. They provide information, advice and support in building students' career paths, and in their search for internships or jobs. Created 20 years ago by five students, and broadcasting since 2008, it's THE radio station on the Caen campus! Its name is an obvious choice, the Phoenix being the sculpture, the university's figurehead, which sits enthroned at the entrance to Campus 1. Run by some thirty student volunteers, this radio station has all the makings of a big one. You can listen to trendy music (hip-hop, reggae, electro...) during the day, and live broadcasts in the evening (culture, community life, sports...). You don't have to be a student to tune in to 92.7 FM!

A nice rejuvenation for this municipal magazine with a circulation of 73,000 copies! Still printed on recycled paper but with a more modern layout, new sections including 8 "Mag" pages on the themes of history, society, culture and sports, we like it! Pictures of the events of the last weeks, news of the districts, reports, portraits of Caen's talents and lights which put forward the big projects of the municipality, events, diary of the outings of the month... Entertaining and interesting to leaf through!

We always think fondly of the creator of this little monthly magazine and are happy to see his Caen Poche still being so popular with the people of Caen! For more than 40 years, the whole of Caen has been snatching up this little magazine. You'll know everything about the cultural events in the Caen area and what's happening in the region. The Centre François-Baclesse is a cancer treatment center in Caen. Founded in 1925, it is one of twenty regional cancer centers.
