HÔTEL DE VILLE DE CAEN
Read moreThe town hall took its place in the premises of the Malherbe high school in 1961, after the latter had moved into more modern and much larger buildings a few hundred meters away, towards the Prairie. The school itself was installed at the end of the 19th century in the Abbey of Men, a superb architectural masterpiece built in the Middle Ages by William the Conqueror. Romanesque and Gothic in style, it has been listed as a historical monument for almost two centuries. It is no coincidence that it is one of the most beautiful town halls in France! Take the time to stop and appreciate the panorama it offers. The administrative services of the city and the offices of the elected officials are located here. The sumptuous wooden wedding hall is also located in the main building. Please note that the civil status services are in an annex building, accessible from the Aile des Jardins. Please also note that the switchboard number can be reached 24 hours a day to answer all questions relating to administrative matters. Emergency calls are transferred to the municipal police between 8pm and 8am as well as on Sundays and holidays.
