About half an hour's drive south from Mokolo, a completely different, greener landscape emerges, with the Mandara Mountains still in the background. The track passes through the small village of Kossehone, home to a few hundred-year-old trees. As you leave the village, heading towards Rhumsiki, after crossing a bridge, you come across a house surrounded by a beautiful enclosure with crenellated walls. The layout of the dwellings here differs from that of the Koza and Mokolo regions. Each dwelling is surrounded by a circular or rectangular enclosure, pierced by a single entrance, sometimes closed by a carved wooden door.
