The two largest basins are Ossa and Mevia, and the lake contains up to 22 islands. A nature reserve and a site for ecology and tourism, it is home to a population of manatees. The lake is surrounded by large rubber and oil palm plantations.Yoyo beach, located in the small fishing village of Mouanko, is a stopover that is still not very popular with tourists, as it is not easy to get there by land.
